Vernon Alfred Hintt Jr, 71 of Belvidere, IL (formally of Hampshire, IL) It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vernon Alfred Hintt Jr., a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and friend, who passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 71. Vernon, a longtime truck driver, leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and devotion to his family that will be cherished forever. Born on February 8, 1953, in Elgin, IL. Vernon graduated from Hampshire High School in 1971. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Marcinkowski), and together they shared over 50+ years of happiness, raising a family built on love, respect, and mutual support. As a husband, he was a steady partner, always there with a helping hand and a listening ear. His love for Kathleen was evident in everything he did, from the quiet moments shared at home to the long drives together on the open road. Their bond was a testament to the strength of their relationship and the deep affection they had for each other. Vernon was first and foremost a devoted dad and grandpa. He took great pride in watching them grow and succeed. Whether he was sharing stories from his own childhood or offering advice from the heart or singing songs with silly words he made up, his wisdom and guidance shaped the lives of those who were lucky enough to know him. Vernon was a man of few words but of great action. His love for his children, grandchildren was immeasurable and all who were close to him was evident in everything he did. Whether it was through hard work, moments of shared laughter, or simple acts of care and concern, Vernon’s presence in their lives was a steady and cherished constant. His family was his greatest joy, and he found fulfillment in watching them grow, learn, and become the people they are today. had a quiet strength that carried through every aspect of his life. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, often putting their needs above his own. His dedication to his children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and he found joy in their achievements, no matter how big or small. He was their biggest cheerleader, always proud, always encouraging. Vernon was a man who lived life on his own terms—driven by a strong work ethic, a quiet sense of humor, and an unshakeable commitment to his loved ones. As a truck driver, he spent much of his life on the road, but he always found his way back home to his family, where he was most content. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, often making personal sacrifices to ensure they had everything they needed. Vernon’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed driving a truck and had done it the moment he learned to drive at a young age, he often spent his weekends making models, working on train cars or spending time with his grandchildren. His love for trucks and trains was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade. We will also remember the funny way he would sing songs and add his own words to the lyrics and make us all laugh, time and time again. Vernon’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived his loving wife, Kathleen, their children, Craig Dale, Vernon III (Julie) and Theresa Eileen and Joseph, his beloved grandchildren, Austin (Erin), Annissa (Kevin), Madelyn (Andrew) Zachery (Kelsey), KJ, Madi and Greyson, his great grandchildren Ginny, Andrew, Jackson, and Breezlynn. As well as his siblings, Steven, Jeffery, Sherry, and Linda. He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Sr., his mother, Betty (Davy), grandson, Andrew, and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Sebastian Hintt. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 7th at Fredrick Funeral Home at 284 Park St, Hampshire, IL, from 2:00 – 6:00pm. Where family and friends will come together to honor Vernon’s life, his love, and his legacy.
