Gail J. Costello

Gail J. Costello, 74, of Hampshire passed away on August 22, 2022. She was born on April 21, 1948, in Chicago the daughter of John and Marie (Fromelt) Biegus. Surviving are her daughters, Brianne& Kimberly Costello; and grandchildren, Destiny Costello, and Cole Cryer. She is preceded in death by her parents; and daughter Kelly Costello. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 22, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5N939 Meredith Rd. in Virgil. Inurnment will follow in the Burlington Twp. Cemetery in Burlington and after you are invited to Burlington Park for fellowship and lunch. Gail was everyone's best friend. We could talk with her about anything and everything and always knew she would keep our secrets. She always gave good advice or just listened when we needed her to. Everyone seemed to connect with Gail and confide in her regardless of their age or background. Being in her presence would put us at ease due to her peaceful nature. She had a great sense of humor which made her sooo much fun to laugh with! She was known for her generosity and willingness to help. If you look in the 1966 yearbook from Chicago's Foreman High School, she is the girl with the tallest beehive! She attended Tricoci University of Beauty Culture and took some business classes at Wright College in Chicago. Always evolving, she completed computer courses at Elgin Community College. She held a variety of careers throughout her life corresponding with her vast knowledge and talents. Gail was an extremely kind and nurturing woman who devoted most of her life caring for her children and grandchildren. She often expressed in both words and actions the deep love she felt for her family and friends. She would reminisce about all of the fun times she had throughout her life and speak of her gratitude for the people she experienced them with, never forgetting the significance of anyone. Her unwavering faith in God throughout her life was inspiring. She continued to praise the Lord, even through the most difficult times. German Shepherd Dogs were her favorite breed and her loyal companion, Darla, always remained by her side. She was quite fond of birds and their song, especially canaries. Gail also found joy growing plants in her small greenhouse that she would sometimes sell at the local markets. She often told stories of the wonderful and interesting people she met there which seemed more important to her than the number of sales she made. If there was any Coca-Cola merchandise around she would always buy it and usually had a Coke in her hand. Anything Chicago she saw would also draw her since she had such a dedication to her hometown. She was highly intelligent and always followed world news. If she wasn't listening to talk radio, she was cranking the music in her van. Her appreciation for music was diverse, from her love of Elvis to Drake! Gail was timeless, remaining cool at every age. She was absolutely beautiful inside and out. I don't think anyone will forget her gorgeous blue eyes!
