Nancy J. Allen

Nancy J. Allen, 89, of Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 19, 2026, at Florence Nursing Home in Marengo, IL. She was born February 23rd, 1937 the daughter of Carl and Florence (Schultz) Allison. She married Maurice B. “Mose” Allen, February 13th, 1970 in Sycamore IL., combining their two families totaling 11 children and adding one more to live her dream of being a farmer's wife with twelve children. Mose passed away on May 8th, 1995. Nancy was a member of Country Covenant Evangelical Church for over 50 years. She had a heart for music and taught herself guitar so she could worship her Lord. Nancy loved working with kids and sharing her love of Jesus to everyone, especially children, through her talents of singing, playing guitar and puppet shows, to name a few. After she and Mose sold the dairy, Nancy worked at the Spee-D Mart and Peterson Propane for over 30 years. Nancy was a fixture at the Speed-D Mart, greeting all those that passed through in the early morning hours. She managed to keep the retired farmers, and a few others, in line who came in every morning for coffee and a chat, Nancy enjoyed sewing, and painting as well as other crafts. However, she especially enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing with those that she loved including her famous Peanut Brittle and Cinnamon Rolls which all looked forward to. Nancy was known for her bright smile and kind and generous heart, yet never afraid to give a little sass if she thought it was needed. She loved visitors and enjoyed showing them all of her treasures which included a tour of her basement where she housed a lifetime of precious memories and toys to entertain the kids. Nancy loved Jesus and her prayers were that everyone found him as well. Left to cherish her memory are Nanette (Sonny) Kein, Gregg (Cyndi) Voss, Penny Horsman, Gary (Kim) Voss, and Abbey (Alan) Roloff; her step-children, Sharon (Steve) Suddeth, Lee (Nancy) Allen, and Jill Allen; daughter-in-law Jeweldean (Gary) Drechney, and Linda Heres; her grandchildren, Brian (Katie) Allen, Kindra Vierig, Chandra Heath, Heidi (Matt) Morgan, Guy (Amber) Voss, Troy Schuring, David (Nikki) Allen, Maurice Allen, Nicholas (Renee) Kristie, Matthew Kristie, Lindsey (Ray) Pulford, Nathan Voss, Noah (Joy) Voss, Gabrielle Voss (Fielding Kalas), Shelby (Jake) Hernandez, Emily (Jesse) Ramierz, Wyatt (Jennifer) Voss, Heather (Chris) Castellonas, Jessica Suddeth (Nick Rogers), Krystal Suddeth (Rob Dobson); her great-grandchildren, Levi Vierig, Hunter Morgan, Reese Morgan, Liam Voss, Ella Voss, Jada Allen (daughter Mia), Khari Allen, Justin (Marisa) Heath, Jessie Heath, Madasyn Dwyer, Makayla Dwyer, Timmy Dwyer, Jamie Allen, Bayli Allen, Dalton Allen, Colton Profit, Boone Kalas, Eden Kalas, Waylon Voss, Vera Voss, Sterling Voss, Rowan Hernandez, Hayes Hernandez, Kaleb Rogers, Ethan Kristie, Lucinda Kristie, Lucas Kristie, Leo Kristie, Devin Pulford, Graycen Pulford, Logan Castellonas, and Reed Castellonas; and her sister, Shirley Lawrence and many beloved nieces and nephews. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mose; her children, Allison Voss, and Guy Voss; her step-children, David Allen, and Julie Carr (Tony-deceased); her grandchildren, Jacob Seyller, and Savannah Allen-Dwyer; her great-grandchildren, David Allen (Li’l Dave), and Leland Kristie; and her siblings, Peggy Allison-Waddell, Robert Allison and Richard Allison; . Nancy was married to her first husband James R. T. Voss (deceased) for 14years in which they shared 6 children. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 28th, 2026 at Frederick Funeral Home, 284 Park Street, Hampshire IL, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Funeral Service for Nancy will be held the following morning Wednesday the 29th, at Country Covenant Evangelical Church 43W510 McDonald Rd, in Campton Hills at 11:00 am. Burial will be held following the Service in Doty Cemetery in Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nancy’s may be directed to the Country Covenant Evangelical Church.
