Orrin N. Frisby

Orrin N. Frisby, 74, of Belvidere, formerly of Elgin and Hampshire, passed away suddenly in his home on Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was born Nov.18,1947, in Elgin the son of Elwin “Jake” and Agnes (Unruh) Frisby. He was a member of the 1967 Class of Hampshire High School. Orrin married Donna G. Brustle on May 20, 1978, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Elgin. Orrin was a dedicated mail carrier for 43 years for the US Postal Service at the Bartlett, Illinois location. He was an active member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Burlington and a past Elder. He lead each day following his faith and always maintaining a positive attitude. Orrin enjoyed spending his days at home with his wife or visiting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was active and took pleasure in acting like one of the kids. Not only was Orrin a fun care free guy who loved to be a kid and have fun, but he also was a very generous man who was easy to talk to and come to for advice. He always had a gentle way of mentoring life decisions in a loving manner, giving choices and supporting whatever choice was made. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Chicago Cubs. A great joy of his was watching them win the World Series. Orrin was a wonderful gardener and passed down his years of knowledge on the subject to friends and family. He has a deep love for golfing and even placed second at the famous Pebble Beach Golf course. Orrin lived each day to the fully and will be missed dearly by many. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna; four sons, Brian (Margie) Fowler, Brad (Kathie) Fowler, Brent (Roxanne) Fowler; and Scott Fowler; grandchildren, Natalie (Aaron) Spiniolas, Ryan (Kate) Vandermast, Lisa (Jason) Shipley, Kyle (Valerie) Fowler, Ashley Vandermast, Zachariah (Stephanie) Fowler, Kassandra (Vince) Martinez, Michelle Fowler, Jake Fowler, Nicolas (Gianna)Fowler, and Jack Fowler; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Frisby; and brother, Michael Frisby. He is preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Katrina Nicole Fowler. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, April 27 at St. John Lutheran Church, 13N355 French Rd. in Burlington with Pastor Patrick Pinion officiating. Visitation will on Tuesday, April 26 from 4 to 8 PM at the church and will continue Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 AM. Memorial contributions in Orrin’s name should be directed to the church or the Hampshire/Burlington Food Pantry.
