Thomas Coronado, 73, of Hampshire, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Tom was born December 13, 1948, in Chicago to Ralph and Constance Coronado He was a member of the 1967 graduating class of Conant High School. During high school, Tom worked in the family business, Raycon Plumbing & Heating in Schaumburg, then worked for another family business, Raycon Lighting, also in Schaumburg. Tom was currently the owner of Auto Paint Plus in Hampshire. He was a member and very involved with the Sunset Street Rods Car Club in Palatine. Tom’s passion was to build and refurbish many classic old cars and go on many fishing trips to many different states. He had a huge passion for having family over on weekends for cookouts. He was proud to be a recently baptized member of Northwest Bible Baptist Church in Elgin. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Scott) whom he married on October 10, 2020; his children, Adri (James) Brewer, Thomas C. Coronado, Brittany K. Coronado, Nicholas M. Coronado; Kathy’s children, Marcy (Mark) Buschbacker, and Jeff (Maria) Stojan; father, Ralph Coronado; half-brother, Bill Toomire; half-sister, Claudia Suchor; a proud grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of 10; and a host of many close wonderful loving friends He is preceded in death by his mother, Connie, and stepfather, Ray Toomire. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3 from 5 to 6 PM with services immediately following at Northwest Bible Baptist Church, 9N889 Nesler Rd. in Elgin. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org
